Cabin movers in Spokane, WA and North Idaho need to plan for things a city mover never thinks about: gravel switchbacks, seasonal road closures, no cell signal to call ahead, and driveways that were never meant for a 26-foot box truck. That’s our specialty. We move lake cabins, mountain cabins, off-grid homes, and rural properties across Spokane County, Kootenai County, and the entire Inland Northwest.
Rural and cabin moves around Priest Lake, Lake Coeur d'Alene, Hauser Lake, and the acreage properties outside Deer Park, Rathdrum, and Athol come with a shared set of challenges: long unpaved driveways, steep grades, and turnaround space that's tighter than it looks on a map. We ask specific questions before quoting a rural move — driveway length, surface (gravel, dirt, paved), grade, and whether a full-size truck has made the trip before — so we show up with the right vehicle and don't discover a problem with a loaded truck already halfway down a hill.
Cabins also tend to accumulate things a normal home doesn't: dock hardware, generators, propane tanks, ATVs, firewood racks, and seasonal furniture that's been in a shed for years. We plan crew size and truck space around the actual inventory, not just square footage, because a small cabin with a full shop and dock setup can take longer than a much bigger house move.
Seasonal access is the other real factor. Some rural driveways and forest-service-adjacent roads aren't maintained through the winter, and a move that's easy in July can be impossible in January without a plow pass first. If you're planning a cabin move for the off-season, tell us early — we'll help you think through timing before you're stuck between a moving date and an unplowed road.
What’s included
Every job includes:
Experience with long gravel and dirt driveways across Priest Lake, Hauser Lake, and North Idaho acreage
Right-sized vehicles for tight, steep, or seasonal-access rural roads — not a one-size-fits-all box truck
Cabin-specific inventory handling: docks, generators, propane, ATVs, and shed contents
Seasonal access planning — we'll flag winter road risk before you're stuck on move day
Same licensed, insured crew for rural jobs as our in-town moves — no rural markup surprise

Can you get a moving truck down a gravel or dirt driveway?
In most cases yes — tell us the driveway length, surface, and grade when booking so we bring the right size vehicle, or plan a shuttle if a full-size truck genuinely can't make it.
Do you move cabin-specific items like docks, generators, or propane tanks?
Yes, these come up regularly in cabin moves and our crews know how to handle them safely. Dock hardware, boat lift components, generators, propane tanks (empty), ATVs, and firewood are all standard cabin-move inventory for us.
Is a rural or cabin move more expensive than a normal move?
Not automatically — we price by crew size and hours, same as any move. Extremely long driveways or difficult access can affect timing, which is why we ask detailed questions up front. A typical cabin move within 45 miles of Spokane runs $600–$1,500 depending on scope.
What if the road to my cabin isn't plowed in winter?
Tell us as early as possible. We'll help you think through timing or an alternate plan rather than finding out on move day that the road isn't accessible.
Do you serve cabins around Priest Lake and Hauser Lake?
Yes, these are regular parts of our rural coverage area along with acreage properties around Athol, Rathdrum, Deer Park, Diamond Lake, Newman Lake, and Loon Lake.
Do you handle barn moves and rural outbuilding cleanouts?
Yes. We move and clear barns, shops, hay lofts, tack rooms, and rural outbuildings across the Spokane area. See our dedicated barn-movers-spokane page for details, or call 208-295-MOVE to discuss your rural property.
