What moving in Spokane Valley is actually like.

Spokane Valley isn’t one neighborhood — it’s a stretched-out city with distinct sub-areas we move every week. Millwood on the west has the older single-family homes near Argonne and Trent, with narrow driveways and detached garages that need a smaller truck and a careful approach. Dishman-Opportunity sits south of Sprague between University and Pines — a mix of older ramblers and duplexes. University is the busy retail corridor around University Road with the apartment complexes, townhomes, and the Valley Mall nearby. Central Valley (the residential grid between Pines, Sullivan, and 32nd) is our densest move area — dozens of family homes booked per month. Then Veradale, Greenacres, and Otis Orchards on the east side push out toward Barker Road and the Liberty Lake border with the newer subdivisions and larger lot sizes.

We move all of it, and the reason it works is that our crews aren’t Spokane-Valley-specific — they’re the same crews that do downtown Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, and Post Falls. Same standards, same training, same rate structure, whichever neighborhood you’re in. There is no ‘Valley premium’ on our pricing. If you’re booking a move off Sprague, Broadway, Pines, Sullivan, Barker, 32nd, or anywhere in Central Valley or Greenacres, you pay the same hourly rate as a downtown Spokane move.

A lot of our Valley moves are people going one of two directions: into a bigger home as their family grows (typically out toward Greenacres, Otis Orchards, or across into Liberty Lake and Post Falls for the schools), or downsizing after the kids leave (typically into a South Hill condo, a Kendall Yards townhome, or over the state line into a CDA lakefront condo). We handle both ends of that arc, and if the move is a two-stop (out of the Valley into Idaho, with a storage stop in between), we quote it as one job with real numbers, not two separate services with two separate travel fees. Apartment moves are a huge share of Valley bookings — the complexes along Sprague, Broadway, University, and Pines make up the highest-density rental corridor in Spokane County. We handle third-floor walk-ups, elevator buildings, and gated complexes as our normal work. What matters for apartment moves: elevator reservation windows (we book them with property management before move day), COI requirements (we send an insurance certificate to the leasing office if required), and the tight 2-hour loading windows some newer complexes enforce. All of that is normal move-day coordination, not a pricing category.

Because the Valley sits right on I-90 with easy exits at Argonne, Pines, Sullivan, Barker, and Appleway, we get a lot of labor-only bookings — a customer rents a U-Haul at the Sullivan or Trent lot, drives it to their new address, and hires us to load or unload on the crew hours. That’s a legit way to save money on a full move and we’re happy to do it. Same crews, same insurance, same standards as our full-service moves — you just supplied the truck. Labor-only is a two-hour minimum.

Landmarks and drive-times worth knowing when you’re planning: Spokane Valley Mall (on Sullivan just off I-90) is our informal midpoint for cross-Valley jobs. Mirabeau Park is a common apartment cluster. Greenacres is about 15 minutes to Liberty Lake, 25 to Post Falls, and 35 to Coeur d’Alene. Millwood is about 15 minutes from downtown Spokane.
