Spokane–Seattle is one of our most common long-distance routes. The drive is not the hard part — the pass, the timing, and the traffic on the West Side are. Here’s the honest version of what a Spokane-to-Seattle move looks like.

The drive itself

Spokane to Seattle is 280 miles on I-90 — about 4.5–5 hours in a passenger car, 5.5–6 hours in a loaded moving truck. Snoqualmie Pass is the choke point. Summer? Easy. Winter? Chain requirements, closures, and delays are all live possibilities from November through March.

Timing your move

May–October is the easiest season for a Spokane–Seattle move — predictable pass, longer daylight, and more crew availability. November–March we build weather flex into the schedule. If you’re on a hard closing deadline, we usually recommend loading a day earlier than strictly needed so pass weather can’t derail your delivery date.

What it costs

Spokane–Seattle long-distance moves are quoted by home size and weight, not the hourly rate we use for local moves. A typical 2-bedroom apartment from Spokane to Seattle is in a very different bracket than a 4-bedroom Kendall Yards home. One crew, one truck

Our long-distance moves use the same crew on both ends. Nobody hands your household off to a warehouse or a subcontractor. This is a small-mover advantage a lot of national chains can’t match on this exact route.

Seattle destination logistics

Seattle apartment moves need building coordination — loading dock reservations, freight elevator holds, and COIs for a lot of downtown high-rises. Send us your building’s move-in packet at booking so we can route paperwork to property management before we roll.

Parking and permits

Certain Seattle neighborhoods (Capitol Hill, Belltown, First Hill, parts of Ballard) may need a temporary parking permit for a moving truck. We handle the paperwork on your behalf where required.

Storage in transit

Common scenario: Spokane home closes before the Seattle home is ready. We offer storage-in-transit on the same truck or in our secure Idaho facility until your Seattle date is firm.
