The weight-class breakdown

Gun safe moves price primarily by weight class, not brand. Under 500 lbs — a two-person crew handles it on a stair-climbing hand truck. 500–1,000 lbs — three-person crew, sometimes a four-wheel dolly with a spotter on stairs. 1,000–2,000 lbs — four-person crew, heavy-duty stair-climber, and pre-move path planning. Above 2,000 lbs is a custom quote and usually requires clearing hallways in advance.

What raises the price

Stairs — each flight roughly doubles the effort. Narrow stairwell turns that force strap changes mid-move. Attic or basement access with only one path. Removing and reinstalling doors, banisters, or handrails to get the safe through. Bolting the safe to the wall or floor at the destination.

What does not raise the price

Standalone safe-only moves — you don’t need a full household move to get us to relocate just a safe. Same rate across the entire Spokane–CDA metro. Long carries within reason (from truck to door) are baked in.

Brand notes: Liberty, Fort Knox, Browning, Cannon

Liberty and Cannon safes are the most common home safes in the Inland Northwest — middle-weight, standard door swing, straightforward to move. Fort Knox and Browning skew heavier and often need the four-person crew even for a single flight. AMSEC commercial safes are extremely dense per cubic foot and get quoted individually.

Do you need to empty the safe?

Yes — always empty the safe before the crew arrives. Ammo, firearms, cash, and documents should be transported separately by you. We move the safe box, not the contents. This is a safety and liability requirement, not a preference.
