30-Day Moving Checklist — Spokane & CDA
A week-by-week checklist for moving in the Inland Northwest — from booking a crew to changing your utilities, from Move Forward LLC.
4 Weeks Out
- Book your mover. Local moves fill up 1–2 weeks in advance; long-distance jobs and end-of-month dates fill even faster.
- Confirm your quote in writing — hours, minimum, materials, and any travel or fuel line items.
- Start a donation pile. If you haven’t used it in a year and it doesn’t sparkle in your soul, it doesn’t need to move with you.
3 Weeks Out
- Order boxes and packing materials — or ask your mover to bring them.
- Take photos of your electronics before you unplug them; you’ll thank yourself on unpack day.
- Notify your landlord (if renting) and start a change-of-address list.
2 Weeks Out
- Change your address at USPS, your bank, insurance, and Amazon.
- Schedule utility disconnects and new-service starts.
- Start packing non-essentials — books, off-season clothes, decorative items.
1 Week Out
- Pack a first-night bag: chargers, meds, toothbrush, coffee, a change of clothes.
- Defrost the freezer. Empty the fridge. Water the plants one last time.
- Confirm arrival time with your movers and share parking/elevator details.
Move Day
- Be there for the walk-through. Show the crew your fragile items and priority boxes.
- Every move is unique. MOVE FORWARD LLC provides customized moving estimates based on your inventory, distance, accessibility, crew requirements, and requested services. Contact us for a personalized moving quote.
- Do a final walk-through of both the old and new place before signing off.
